Aaron Gallery is a cheerful space located in Dupont Circle featuring bright, abstract pieces. The works of Javiar Cabada, my favorite Washington DC based artist, are house within these walls.
National Museum of the American Indian is a must see for anyone looking for a cultural view into the past. One of the advantages of visiting DC is that most of the museums are free! They are all excellent, but I feel most inspired by the Native American Museum. I come here for the stories, intricate textiles, and wooden crafts.
Don’t miss: The Mitsitam Cafe on the first floor serves native food from north and south america. There are so many dishes to choose from! I loved the spicy buffalo chilli, fish wrapped in banana leaf, and agua fresca.
GEORGETOWN, C+O CANAL
This particular spot is located right behind Dean & Deluca. The C+O Canal starts in Georgetown and ends in Cumberland, Maryland. It’s my favorite trail for biking during the spring. If you are feeling rather energetic, Great Falls is only 15 miles away!
ESCAPE: GREAT FALLS, MD/VA
If biking 15 miles is not your cup of tea, Great Falls is accessible by car. There are plenty of trails to choose from, but I usually take the River Trail which leads to a platform overlooking the waterfalls.
